Tucked away amid tranquil woodlands, Springfort Hall Hotel in Cork is a delightful country house hotel for all seasons. The gardens and lawns are a delight during the summer, while in the winter months, theres no better place to relax with a glass of red wine than in the Baltydaniel Bar.
Area Description
In former times Springfort Hall Hotel Cork was known as Baltydaniel, Baltydaniel means the Town of the House of O Donnell. It is not known how it got this name. Springfort Hall got its name from a stream, which flows south of the House. This stream rises in a spring in the old fort at Pencil Hill. Lewis, in 1029 mentions that triple X was mined in the Land of Baltydaniel (Springfort Hall).

3 of us stayed one night here and had a full evening meal. Overall a positive experience- the Website photos are more impressive than the reality. On the positive the staff were extremely friendly and we felt very welcome. This includes reception, bar & restaurant. The food was lovely. Beds were very comfortable and rooms are of generous size. The decor is a bit tired & shabby in main parts and some parts could do with a spruce up. The housekeeping could be better through out the hotel, quiet a lot of dust around. The plates were hot for the service of breakfast and there were no trays or napkins around to help you carry them. The layout of breakfast buffet is quiet awkward, but a good choice of quality food on offer. - I would stay again, but not really a luxurious option.
Room Tip: no real insight into this - our rooms were large - number 16 - twin room and number 17 a double.
